Back Online

Hello everyone!

I've made my move, and just got my computer set up and online. Regular blogging will commence again after Christmas.

Thanks to all readers for their patience!

Merry Christmas to all celebrants!

I hope you've been spending some time lurking at Belmont Club in the last few days. It's been an interesting time over there.

Hello Scholar!

Looking forward to your return to the blogging life. Tap tappety tap-tap-tap.

"Merry Christmas to all celebrants!"

Merry (belated) Christmas to you, too!

And what a wonderful thing you're doing in using the word "celebrants": greeting those who celebrate the holiday, while not assuming that all do, therefore not "imposing" the holiday (holy day) on anyone. Your greeting allows for participation or non-participation, without carrying judgement. What a nice way to pass along good cheer without getting ensnared in religious-political offense-giving and -taking.

And so I carry the torch:

Happy 2005 to all Gregorian Calendar adherents! : ) And to all non-adherents as well!

Baron -- Yes, I've been trying to catch up on Belmont, LGF, NRO, etc!

Mlle. Tangerine -- glad you caught my usage! Very observant, as usual. And thanks for your Gregorian wishes!

I take issue with your Christmas greeting. The message of Christmas is clear to everyone: Peace and Goodwill. That one might choose to be offended by the message is not the responsibility of the messenger. That one might feel excluded is not the fault of the messenger.
I do not celebrate Kwanzaa, nor the Eid, nor Passover. I am not offended by those who do. I do not feel excluded by those who do. And if those who do would offer me a sincere message of peace, I would welcome their heartfelt good wishes.
So, my friend, wish a Merry Christmas to the entirety of the world, and let the world do with it as it will.
