Positive Developments

Well at last, some good news out of Britain!
Fear and hatred of Muslims on increase in young generation
Of course, it's being reported as absolutely dreadful and a cause of deep concern. Imean, how could these children possibly have gotten such ideas into their little heads?

Well, get over it.

It's called self-preservation.
Nathalie Noret, the lead researcher, from York St John's College, said: "The younger pupils were more likely to exhibit extreme views and Islamophobia than older students, and there were no differences between schools." She added that Islamophobia was a "double whammy" as it discriminated against people not just on the basis of religion but also the colour of their skin.
Nathalie, you are spewing nonsense, and I'm tired of hearing it.

First, Islam is NOT A RACE! Tell me, Nathalie, what color are Islamists?

Second, why, however, is "discriminating" against a religion necessarily a bad thing to bemoan? Because it's impolite?

Newsflash: religious beliefs are freely chosen, not accidents of birth. Why should people not be held accountable for their belief-systems? Why is it assumed all belief systems are unequivocally good? Is it not possible that some belief sets are antithetical to peaceful living, the rule of law, and civilization itself?

I mean, if we can't "discriminate" on the basis of what other people intend to do to us based on their beliefs, we might as well walk into the disintegration chmabers right now.

Discrimination is not in and of itself a bad thing. It can be good to be discriminating. Anyone with any sense "discriminates" all the time!
Discriminate
v. intr.

To make a clear distinction; distinguish: discriminate among the options available.
To make sensible decisions; judge wisely.

v. tr.
To perceive the distinguishing features of; recognize as distinct: discriminate right from wrong.
You are being "discriminating" when you choose Pepsi over Coke, or a Toyota over a Ford. We could use much more discrimination!

Because brand matters. People seem to put more thought into their next DVD-player purchase than into the consequences of defending people who wish to enslave us all under Sharia law. Oops, amend that: only the other "People of the Book" get to live as subjugated second-class citizens; the others (considered "polytheists" must convert or die.

But, who are we to judge?

That would be discriminating!

Ever since Roots we've been pounded that "discrimination" is a bad thing. Time to swing back the pendulum.

Everything anti-PC attitude is mis-labelled a "phobia" these days, to portray its believers as hysterically and irrationally fearful. Which is a positively Orwellian abuse of language and thought. The Soviets were big on labelling dissenters as psychologically disturbed and sending them to sanitariums.

If I oppose certain elements of the radical gay agenda, I am a "homophobe."

If I oppose certain aspects of (largely Arab) Islamic Imperialism, I am an Islamaphobe.

Well let me borrow a tactic and "own" the terms, then. I proudly proclaim my "guilt!"

I'd prefer a better term however that more accurately reflected feelings of implacable opposition, rather than "fear" which is banished by proper preparation.
