Victory Conditions

Elaborating on den Beste, Tigerhawk has an in-depth but concise explanation of victory conditions and grand strategery in the GWOT here.

Rather than quote any of it here (for to do so would be to do it an injustice), I'll just give Bill Whittle's comment:
Good Lord, Man! That was some magnificent thinking!

Really, REALLY first rate analysis. Bravo!
BTW, I have referred to den Beste and Whittle; who are they? According to Lileks, apparently,
If Steven den Beste is Spock, then Bill is Kirk!
And who is Lileks? Uh oh, I sense an infinite regression approaching...

One thing that I like about the commentary on Victory Conditions is that it does not demonize all moslems. Rather, it defines the enemy as a subset of moslems and recognizes that many moslems are just average people who, while lacking the courage to stand against our enemy, are not for the enemy.

All muslims may not directly be our enemy in this conflict, but all muslims demonize themselves by their allegiance to a demon.

I can't possibly see how I could consider any person who claims reverence for the clearly evil and perverted mohammed as a "good" person by any standard.

My God, they all agree he repeatedly raped a 9 year old girl!

That claim is not DaVinci Code-type speculation, but from mainstream canonical muslim scripture.

For not repudiating him on that alone, how can any muslim not be held as a contemptible person?

Who will stand for Aisha?

Not to mention his incestuous stealing of his son's wife...or the murders...or the mass slaughters...

Really, what are we to think of anyone who utters "peace be upon him" when speaking of this monster?

What does it say about us if we do not abjure people for praising a pedophilic mass murderer, to simply avoid being rude?

What about Aisha?

mohammed is abhorrent. And by direct willing association, so is anyone who follows him. They are responsible for their beliefs and must be held morally accountable.

islam delenda est!

I can give a pass to the ones living in officially muslim countries, for they are essentially slaves -- whom it is our Christian duty to free from islamic tyrrany.

The ones in the West, however, have no excuse whatsoever.

Oh, I didn't meant that Islam is not a rotten religion. I meant that the commentary on Victory Conditions makes a distinction between the average moslem and the Islamist terrorists.

We need to find and kill the terrorists. But while we may and should with words condemn his religion, his religion, per se, is not grounds for killing the average moslem. We should kill him only when he attempts to force his religion on us or tries to dominate us in some way.

Of course. An upcoming post will clarify.
