Looks like the media is the same everywhere! I was really amused by the question posed by the anchorwoman:
“At the same time, one can claim that there is much violence in Iraq, and this might even lead to a civil war ... Blood is spilled in Iraq every day. Is this the price of democracy and freedom?”
I think this underscores how oblivious people in the world are to the details of American history. In case the world has forgotten, Americans were proud to give their lives in the battle for freedom. Americans fought their own civil war for the same tenents: freedom.
It is our will to be free that makes us strong.
I agree with The Bad. The speaker had a good answer for the woman, but I wish he would have also told her what Thomas Jefferson said: Sometimes the Tree of Freedom needs to be watered with the blood of patriots and tyrants!
This man's speech made me cry for joy. If only more would speak out this way!
